grinding concrete

Remove signage or old line marks from roads, outdoor venues and paths.

We grind the surface for two reasons:

Removal

To remove existing/obsolete lines that are no longer useful. When it comes to value for money long term grinding is definitely the way to go because it removes the line altogether unlike blacking out which prolongs the inevitable.

Surface Prepration

This is performed predominantly on concrete where the surface is too smooth for the paint to correctly bond and therefore required diamond grinding or shot blasting to enhance the bond and the life of the paint. Painting on concrete and Asphalt with Roadmaster A1 should not be done 28 days before it being poured and set. Grinding or shot blasting on concrete will leave scarify marks which may not look appealing, however over time when dirt, dust and grest lands on it will bring it back to how it looked before.

Blacking out vs Grinding - For line removal

The blacking out can be used and is often a good fix for areas of low traffic areas where it will not wear away and hard to reach places. However we recommend grinding due to its long term benefits, those being its gone for good and its aesthetically pleasing compared to blacking out.
